2. Active license as a Security Guard in New York State a plus but not required(8 hour pre-assessment certificate, 16 hour on-the-job certificate).
Department Preferences
Bilingual Chinese/English/Russian/Creole/Italian/French/Greece/Spanish a plus

At a minimum, all security personnel must meet the following criteria:
• No Experience is required (will train qualified candidates)
• Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality;
• And, be able to operate two-way radios and Nextel phones.

Based on the Post, security officers may also be required to do the following:
• Monitor access control system;
• Observe security camera monitors;
• Follow emergency contact protocol;
• Greet visitors;
• Inform employees of guests and deliveries;

• Make regular patrols of the facility;
• Update log books and reports;
• Ensure doors are locked;
• Operate alarm panel, visitor management system, and public address system;
Additionally, mobile patrol assignments are available for select individuals who meet the above criteria, have a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
Available Shifts:
(8 a.m -4 p.m). (9am-5pm) (10am-6pm)
(3 pm -11 pm) (4pm-12am) (5pm-1am)
(11pm - 7am) (12am-8am) (1am-9am)
Or, variations of the times above (Flexible)

big apple security scam (Manhattan)

I had an interview for a job offered in Jersey city. I thought it a bit of that the interview was in Manhattan for a Jersey job but o well. I showed up and was almost instantly asked for 90 dollars for a Sora class. I said i'm already certified in Jersey and if the job is in Jersey I don't need a NY license. the woman said I need double certification cause the office is in NY I told her she can lick nuts and I left. Don't fall for the scam. Also, a little tip. No company can certify you to use a night stick or baton any that offers is a scam you need a gun license just to carry a baton in Jersey.
I just contacted Mr Burgess owner of big apple security I told him I literally had all the training and he was still going to charge me $75 for what!!! He couldn't explain to me what the fee was for. If the advertised as a staffing agency and a training school I would understand but they have people coming in to interview for jobs he doesn't have. taking advantage of the poor broke people. Instead of going after the rich. Yeah cause massa has him trained. Expose these crooks and together we will clean up the industry.
