While I was on my way to work I saw this banner posted at a construction site from http://thechalkboardtee.com a subsidiary of Class Attire (http://www.classattirenyc.com). Started by a husband and wife team of Christopher and Jinyen Carew. They developed a shirt that is also a chalk board allowing people to wear what they draw.
So When it came time to market their shirt this happily married couple chose to send a message similar to the Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them message by Florida clothing company David and Goliath.
He Looks like he is happy with his abuse.
Their campaign is a man with an ice pack to his cheek lamenting that he should have gotten his wife or girlfriend a chalkboard t-shirt.
This is similar to many marketing campaigns that use violence towards the stupid man for making the wrong gift choice. It promotes that it is okay for women to beat and harm the men in their lives for not buying them the right trinket.
Christopher and Jinyen Carew's insensitive sexist ad for their bobbles is very irresponsible and promotes gender inequality.
